The Discovery Environment (DE) is CyVerse's premiere gateway to private and public data, hundreds of apps, and reproducible analyses and containers that enable scientists, science educators, and students to tackle collaborative open science challenges like never before.
Over the past couple of years, CyVerse's dev team has worked hard to revamp the Discovery Environment's key functionalities with robust features and a simple user interface that makes doing computational science even easier. CyVerse's Science Analyst Ryan Bartelme, will help you navigate the new DE, touring its features and capabilities designed to make tasks like using global search effectively, sharing multiple files and analyses, instant launching popular tools and apps, using Genome Browser, and more as easy as a couple of clicks! About the Presenter
Ryan Bartelme splits his time between CyVerse as a Science Analyst and the Agricultural
Genome to Phenome Initiative (AG2PI), a USDA grant to improve communication between biologists data scientists, and engineers. His PhD is in freshwater sciences from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he examined high-density microbial community structures in aquaculture and aquaponic systems. He is a member of CyVerse's training team, which offers Foundational Open Science Skills and Container Camps to teach computational skills using cloud infrastructure. When not developing ML framework models for exploring gene-environment-phenotype relationships, he spends time cycling, hiking, rock climbing, and being owned by two felines.
